There's something a bit magical about a pōhutukawa in full bloom. Maybe it's the way it announces summer, or maybe it's because no matter where you are in New Zealand, it somehow feels like home.

This design is part of my Stained Glass Collection – a series that reimagines some of New Zealand's most iconic flora, fauna and landscapes through the colourful, light-filled beauty of stained glass.

The pōhutukawa was an obvious place to start. Every leaf and crimson bloom has been transformed into a stained glass-style artwork that celebrates one of Aotearoa's most loved trees with a fresh, contemporary twist.
