Kotare Kingdom features a crown of kōtare (New Zealand kingfishers) perched among the tall flower stems of harakeke, congregating before heading off on their next fishing trip.

Set against a calm coastal backdrop, Glenn has combined two familiar sights from around New Zealand’s coastline – native harakeke and the distinctive kōtare – with a little wordplay in the title. And yes, a group of kingfishers really can be called a crown.
