About This Art Print

There are few roads in New Zealand as memorable as Desert Road.

It's not because of the road itself, but because of what's waiting beyond it. The landscape opens wide, the traffic fades away and, before long, the mountains appear on the horizon. Every trip feels a little different, depending on the season, the weather and the light.

This print is part of my Scenic Series, inspired by the places around New Zealand that stay with us long after we've packed the car and headed home. The beaches, towns and landscapes that become part of our own story.

What drew me to this scene was the sense of space. The road sits quietly in the foreground while your eye is carried across the open tussock towards the snow-covered peaks of Tongariro National Park. It's a simple composition, but it captures that familiar feeling of looking ahead and knowing you're travelling through one of New Zealand's most extraordinary landscapes.

Whether you've driven Desert Road countless times or it's still a journey waiting to be made, I hope this print reminds you that sometimes the road is just as memorable as the destination.
