This scene looks out across the coastline at Ahipara, where the waves roll gently towards the shore and the headland quietly watches over the beach. There's a wonderful simplicity to it—a place where the rhythm of the ocean seems to slow everything down.

This print is part of my Scenic Series, inspired by the places around New Zealand that stay with us long after we've packed the car and headed home. The beaches, towns and landscapes that become part of our own story.

For this artwork, I was drawn to the repeating lines of the surf and the contrast between the rugged coastline and the calm sea beyond. It's those simple shapes and quiet moments that make Ahipara feel so special. Sometimes the most memorable places aren't the loudest—they're the ones that invite you to stop, look and simply enjoy where you are.

Whether Ahipara is somewhere you've visited many times or somewhere you're still hoping to discover, I hope this print captures a little of the peaceful spirit that makes this corner of Northland so memorable.
