Some beaches make an impression the moment you arrive.

Karekare is one of them. Wide, wild and beautifully untamed, it's a place where the sound of the surf seems to drown out everything else. You can't help but slow your pace and take it all in.

This print is part of my Scenic Series, inspired by the places around New Zealand that stay with us long after we've packed the car and headed home. The beaches, towns and landscapes that become part of our own story.

What drew me to this view was its simplicity. The long bands of black sand and rolling waves lead your eye towards Paratahi Island, sitting quietly offshore. There are no distractions—just the beach, the ocean and the feeling of standing on one of New Zealand's most iconic stretches of coastline.

Whether Karekare reminds you of a favourite walk, a west coast adventure or simply the beauty of New Zealand's rugged shoreline, I hope this print captures a little of what makes this place so unforgettable.
